- Wizards of the Coast2025-06-30Abuelo's Awakening was banned in standard on June 30, 2025. Abuelo's Awakening always had the potential to create a deck like this, as four mana is cheaper than we normally allow noncreature reanimation effects to be, but we had hoped that turning what it brings back into a creature would allow ample counterplay. This version of Omniscience has proved too powerful and consistent. For these reasons, Abuelo's Awakening is banned.
