Grief

• WOTC Official Reminder Textofficial rules
Menace — This creature can't be blocked except by two or more creatures.

• WWizards of the Coast2021-06-18
  Official Ruling
If you pay the evoke cost, you can have the creature's own triggered ability resolve before the evoke triggered ability. You can cast spells after that ability resolves but before you have to sacrifice the creature.
• WWizards of the Coast2021-06-18
  Official Ruling
To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you're paying (such as an evoke cost), add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The mana value of the spell is determined by only its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast that spell was.

Grief was banned in legacy on August 26, 2024. Simply put, Legacy has not been able to self-correct to handle the powerful combination of Grief and Reanimate. With Dimir Reanimator's ever-growing metagame share, we've decided to ban Grief in Legacy. Source: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/august-26-2024-banned-and-restricted-announcement

Grief was banned in modern on August 26, 2024. Starting the game down two or three cards from the various one-mana ways it can be returned is quite brutal. In the interest of making the format more fun, we are banning Grief today. Source: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/august-26-2024-banned-and-restricted-announcement

Grief was banned in historic on June 3, 2024. We have been cautious of cards that can be cast for free with alternative payments as we believe they are too fast for this format. So, it should not be surprising that we are banning the Evoke Elementals and Flare cycle for Modern Horizons 3. Source: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/mtg-arena/mtg-arena-announcements-june-3-2024
