Up the Beanstalk was banned in standard on June 30, 2025. At this point, Up the Beanstalk has been clearly cemented as a best-in-class source of card advantage for slower decks. It shares Cori-Steel Cutter's quality of being challenging to interact with profitably, as its controller will almost always be up a full card on the exchange. For these reasons, Up the Beanstalk is banned. Source: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/banned-and-restricted-june-30-2025
